This health screening assessment is an in-depth health check that includes medical and non-invasive tests that gives you a clearer picture of your current health and well-being. Understanding your current health is a great start for those who will be beginning their fitness journey, and those who want to see their progress after months of hard work.
Your health screening assessment will provide an in-depth check of various health markers which includes:
- Personal medical history and lifestyle questionnaire
- Weight measurements
- Vital signs analysis
- Girth measurements
- Postural assessment
- Movement analysis
- Flexibility analysis
Personal Medical History and Lifestyle Questionnaire
I will ask you a series of questions about your personal medical history and current lifestyle. This will help me to better understand your current health state and how your medical history and behaviours may be affecting your health.
Under your consent, I will weigh you to determine your current body mass. This will help me to calculate various other medical outcomes that will be reflected upon your feedback form.
Vital Signs Analysis
I will perform an assessment of various vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration rate. These medical tests will inform me of the physiological state of your circulatory system, heart and respiratory system.
Under your consent, I will perform girth measurements at the arm, waist, hip (waist/hip), chest (males only), and thigh. Any measurements you do not feel comfortable with can be excluded from the test.
I will look for any postural instabilities at the major sites such as the head, upper back, shoulders, and knees. Instabilities at these sites may be a cause of current aches or pains and may impact your ability to perform safely within a gym environment.
I will assess your ability to perform a range of common movements that may be performed in every day life and also within the gym environment. This can help to determine particular areas of improvements that will help you move more freely, both throughout the day and in the gym.
I will test your range of motion and flexibility in various muscles such as the hip, pectorals, hamstrings, and quadriceps. Having good flexibility is key to perform safe and effective exercise.
- Health screening assessments are on average 45 minutes – 1 hour 30 mins in duration.
- Clients may opt out of any test if they do not feel comfortable with its performance.
- Will be performed at Simply Gym Kettering.
- Clients should arrive in active wear and ready to perform exercise.
- This product should not be confused with a personal training session. Some exercise will be performed in this assessment but not to the extent of a personal training session.
